When Bella was just a pup

I was browsing through some old photos, and I came across Bella's puppy pics. Wow she was so adorable, cute, tiny & fluffy! I do miss when she was small enough for me to hold in my arms.

Good description of a corgi

Corgi - an approximately 25 pound dog that was bred to move (herd) cattle outweighing it a 1,000 pounds or so and the dog won. That sums up a lot about their outlook on life.

Korgi - Sprouting Wings

I came across this really cute book online. It tells a story of a girl and her corgi Sprout! It's full of adventure and looks really fun. The illustrator used to work for Disney, and I have to say that his drawings of this corgi are absolutely amazing and adorable!

My Christmas Wish List!

So I thought I would post a list of the few things I wish I had / would like to get for Christmas :-)

First off I'll start off with certain electronic items...

Wacom Bamboo Fun Medium Tablet

I have been wanting one of these for a while now. I keep getting this urge to draw whenever I'm working on a design, and this would be the best tool for that. I can't always get the result I want by using my mouse. This is my number 1 gift :-)

Samsung 22" Widescreen LCD

I was using this screen at my previous job and I absolutely fell in love with it. The look, and the size...it's just perfect for my kind of work. I have been struggling a bit trying to design on a 13" laptop screen, so this would be a great addition to my design tools.

Sony Cybershot Digital Camera

Our digital camera mysteriously stopped working all of a sudden, and we haven't been able to take any good quality pics of our two babies, Bella our corgi, and Liam our beagle. It's really unfortunate and I feel like we're missing opportunities to capture those special moments with them.

Now we go to the gifts I could use in my new *brown & turquoise* office

Desk accessories

These are so perfect for my brown & turquoise themed office. They're absolutely stunning.
Hopefully going to need them once my business kicks off and I have lots of documents to file :-)

I thought this frame was absolutely beautiful, and perfect to display a pic of my soulmate and I.

I love how you can personalise it with your names :-)

Turquoise Ribbon Board

This will match the room perfectly, and will definitely come in handy to post any important notes, and for favourite pics :-)

These would look great on the couch in my office, just to add that little extra sophistication :-)

And lastly, to finish off my office, this lovely wallpaper on the feature wall would look absolutely fabulous!

This week's favourite website comes from Matt Hill of friskdesign. He is based in London, and seems to be a very busy designer. His work is truly amazing. I love how "fresh" his site is, and I absolutely love the sea, so of course Im going to love the site :-)

Brown and Turquoise!

I now have my own office space at home, and I decided that I was going to decorate it & go wild!

My colour theme is Brown & Turquoise...and Im so excited! I love the combination of those two colours. While I was doing some research online I came across a blog that features everything brown & turquoise...how awesome! Check it out here

Now I have one central point to get inspiration with these beautiful colours. Can't wait to start decorating! :-)

Bella's new favourite thing to do is to lay on her back completely still! It's the cutest thing ever...and her face looks adorable when she's looking at you upside down.

My Site of the Week

This weeks' site comes from Sohtanaka.com. I love the use of colour in this site, its similar to what I am already using for my own design studio website...so I guess great minds think alike :-).
Haha...I also really love the footer design, the overall site is very clean and layed out perfectly in my opinion.

No Doubt is back!!

Apparently No Doubt is getting back together (as shown on their website), and they will be going on tour. They haven't set any dates or destinations yet, but I REALLY REALLY hope that they come through to South Africa. I LOVE NO DOUBT!! Please come to SA!! :-)

This week, my favourite website comes from 13 Creative. The design is really cute with great use of colours. I love how the actual website fits exactly with what the company does...great job!

This is the second Minimal Groove party, and I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to work on the flyers for both parties.


The face & back of head was designed by a friend of mine, and this is where my inspiration came from.

My Site of the Week!

I have to say that I think Australian designers are extremely talented. Most Australian websites that I visit just wow me, and they're always so original and have that little bit extra. This one is no exception.

I love how everything was put together so cleanly and simply. Clean and simple...my favourite :-)

I especially like the part in the middle with the man running and the swirly thing...would love to know how they did that...

Sprint: Plug into Now!

This is one of the coolest things I've seen on the web lately. Click on the image above and it will take you to the site. They will give you every stat they could think of, ranging from how many babies are being born at this moment, to how much money is being spent online (in the US).

Check it out...it's pretty interesting!

Site of the week!

I missed last week's "Site of the week"...sorry! :-)

But here is this week's favourite.
I came across this designer called Veerle Pieters and her blog, which is absolutely stunning visually. While browsing her blog I found that she has her own design company, and here is the website. I absolutely love her way of designing, especially her use of colours. I hope to one day be as good as she is!

No babies

My little princess Bella won't be having any babies because she is getting spayed on thursday!

Shame my poor little girl, I'm quite nervous for her, I hope it isn't too painful.

I also hope that she recovers well and quickly because next weekend we won't be here to take care of her since we'll be on holiday. I hope she'll be fully recovered by then.

I absolutely love her website's design and the use of colours. Pink and black are one of my favourite colour combinations...and she pulled it off really well.

New electric Mini

BMW Mini has created the first electric Mini...yep...an electric Mini...pretty cool hey?

It will be released early next year, but only to commercial and private customers in the US, and only 500 are available for now. Europe will be the next lucky ones after the first release.

Finally...a good-looking "green" (eco) car...YAY!

Finally...a dog park

I was getting quite upset that we don't really have any dog parks in this country, and we aren't even allowed to have dogs at regular parks...not that those parks are any good anyways. I kept reading on mycorgi.com that almost everyone on there take their dogs to dog parks (in America), and about how much fun it is...and I want that too!

So I did some searching on the net, and I found this great place called Walkhaven Dog Park! YES! I was so happy...finally somewhere I can take my dogs and let them run free and meet other dogs. The only downfall is that it's a little bit further than I would have liked, but I think it will be worth it. I can't wait to take them there :-)

I want an ipod!

These really cool, funky, bright ipod nanos have arrived...and I really really want one!
The only thing I can't decide on is what color to get...maybe pink, maybe blue...or silver...hmmm...

Cute new movie

There's a really cute movie coming out soon, and it has a cute little dog with Johan Travolta as the voice (a weird choice, but its ok). "Bolt" kinda looks like he could be a corgi, if they changed his colors :-)

I wish they would use more corgis in movies...lol!

Look out for the movie, I'm sure it's gonna be a good one to watch

I found this calendar on mycorgi.com. It's this year's calendar, and its absolutely adorable! I wanted to order it, but since we're almost done with 2008, it would be a waste of my money.

They are currently taking in new photos for the 2009 calendar, and I cannot wait to see it. I am also kind of thinking about submitting a photo of my princess Bella...then she'll be famous! Haha!

2 and a half years

On monday the 13th of October, my boyfriend and I celebrated our 2 and a half year anniversary.

We're almost at the 3 year mark, and these have been the best years of my life. I am so happy and lucky that I have found my soulmate, whom I love with all my heart!

I love you so much Gavin! You mean the world to me :)
